Abstract
The study investigated the effect of contract administration practices on the performance of force account education projects in Chemba District. The study intended to achieve the following objectives, the quality control measures taken on the performance of force account education projects in Chemba District, examine the competence of staff on the performance of force account education project sand lustily assess the risk management measures employed on performance force account education projects in Chemba District. A cross-sectional research design was used in this study, targeted population was 260 which was made up of selected staff and laborer's engaged in the performance of force account education projects in Chemba District. A stratified sampling technique was used in selecting as ample size of 98 respondents. Data were collected through structured questionnaires whereas the multiple regression model was used to analyze data for the effects of contract administration practice on the performance of force accounts. Findings revealed that all variables were positively and significantly influencing the performance of force account education projects in Chemba District. Risk, mitigation and control were positively and significantly influencing the performance of force account projects withal coefficient of 0.306 The study concluded that there positive and significant relationship between quality control, staff competence and risk management measures with the performance of force account projects. Therefore, effective quality control measures and employing competent staff by observing risk management measures would result in minimization of costs and timely completion of force account projects and therefore value for money will be realized. The study recommends that the management of Chemba District Council should continue to improve quality control measures and risk management strategy on the performance of force account education projects as well as provision of adequate training touts staff improving the performance of force account projects.
