Effects of Social Media Marketing Platforms on Sales Revenue of Telecommunication Companies: A Case of Tanzania Telecommunications Corporation

Abstract

This study's main goal was to evaluate how social media could increase Tanzania, Telecommunications Corporation's sales revenue. In particular, the study focuses on three key goals, including identifying the most popular social media marketing techniques, evaluating the impact of these techniques on mobile sales income, and examining the difficulties these techniques may encounter in Tanzania Telecommunications Corporation (TTCL). A cross-sectional study approach was used to gather data from a sample of fifty (50) respondents who were chosen from one hundred (105) commercial personnel in a few chosen commercial regions as well as the TTCL headquarters in Dodoma and Mwanza. Key informants and commercial personnel were interviewed, and questionnaires were used to collect data. To evaluate the data gathered for this study, descriptive and inferential statistics were both used, as well as content analysis. The results of the study showed that Instagram is the social media marketing technique that contributes most to sales income, whereas twitter is favourably significant but unrelated to TTCL's sales revenue. According to the study's findings, Instagram is the social media marketing approach that contributes the most to sales revenues. As a result, the majority of TTCL's revenue comes from its Instagram account's advertising and other marketing efforts. Finally, it is advised that the introduction of some policies that will stress the usage of social media marketing methods to users to improve sales volume be made by the policy makers.
