Effect of Procurement Planning on Construction Projects Performance in Tanzania.

Abstract

The study assessed Tanzania's Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries' construction project management practices in light of procurement planning. The specific goals were to evaluate the effect of resource allocation on project performance, investigate the effect of procurement plan preparation on project performance, and assess the impact of procurement need assessment on construction project performance. The study employed a cross-sectional research design. Using a simple random sampling method, 105 respondents were chosen for the sample size. Conversely, questionnaires were used to collect primary data, and document reviews were used to gather secondary data. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and linear regression analysis. With a significant value of 0.000 (P 0.05), the results demonstrate that the procurement need assessment had a positive and significant impact on the performance of the construction project. The results showed that the effectiveness of building projects is significantly impacted by the creation of a procurement plan. The results showed that resource allocation during the development of the PP has a significant impact on the performance of construction projects, with a significant value of 0.000 (P 0.05). The study concluded that resource allocation, effective PP preparation, and procurement need assessment all positively affect building project performance at MLF because it had a significant value of 0.000 (P0.005). According to the study, MLF, the Ministry of Finance, and legislators should make sure that the right procurement planning strategies are used in order to enhance the performance of building projects.
