Abstract

The study assessed the effect of internal workers‘ mobility on organizational performance where EWURA was selected as the organization for the study. The study employed a descriptive research design where a sample of 69 respondents was included. Questionnaires and interviews were used in the collection of data. The findings revealed that the practice of up-gradation is always taken into consideration to achieve good results while on the other hand, promotion has a positive influence on the performance of the organization. The study also indicated that there is always a practice of rotation transfer among the workers to enhance organizational performance at EWURA and transfer has a positive influence on the performance of the organization. Moreover, the study found that there is always a practice of involuntary demotion among the employees to enhance organizational performance at EWURA. The study concluded that promotion, transfer and demotions have effects on organizational performance at EWURA. The study recommends that, to foster a culture of open and transparent communication regarding mobility strategies, Tanzania's government should amend the Public Service Act and create awareness about the promotion and transfer of employees. This will help address concerns, clarify misconceptions, and build trust among workers.
