Abstract

The research was intended to assess the effectiveness of GePG in Collection of Government Revenue in Temeke Municipal in Dar es Salaam. To achieve its objective, the research intentionally examined tax collectors readiness on revenue collection in Temeke municipal, determine the efficacy of GePG in revenue collection in Temeke municipal, determine the strategies for enhancing revenue collection in Temeke Municipal. The research used a case study research design which in cooperates qualitative and quantitative designs. The sample size of the research was 50 from ICT department, Marketing department, Finance and accounting department, Packing department and Tax Collectors. Data were collected through questionnaires and interview respectively to both sections of Temeke Municipality Office. Data collected was then coded, analyzed, interpreted, and presented in form of tables, chart, and graphs and multiple regression analysis. The findings of this study revealed that more than 90% of the respondents responded positively on the readiness of tax collector on the revenue collection exercise at Temeke Municipal. This implied that respondents agreed the readiness of tax collectors on the tax collection influenced or facilitated revenue collection on Temeke Municipal. The findings further revealed that 94% of the respondents had agreed that the efficiency of Revenue collection were obtained by the high level of efficacy of GePG on its operations. Conclusively it was revealed that the established tax collection strategies
