Abstract
The study explored challenges hindering motivational performance of Security Guard in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The study used a descriptive research design and both
qualitative and quantitative research approach. The study used 58 respondents selected purposively and randomly. Questionnaire and interview were used to collect data with confidentiality and anonymity. Cronbach‟s alpha was used to measure the reliability of data. The study used descriptive analysis to analyze data with the help of Statistical package for social science (SPSS) and data were presented in frequencies and tables. The study revealed that personnel compensation constraint, personnel development constraint and personnel recognition constraint to an average mean=3.03 affect positively motivational performance. The study concluded that inadequate compensation and financial incentive are being provided to personnel by management and has made contribution on motivational performance and untimely acknowledgement of personnel„s effort are not being observed with less contribution on motivational performance. The study recommends that Stakeholders and management should create policies in regard on provision of inadequate compensation, on-job training program, recognition and appreciation and timely acknowledgement of personnel„s effort for the enhancement on motivational performance.
