Abstract

Finding out the factors which can be considered for assessment of user’s satisfaction with the ISs implemented in Tanzanian HEIs context. This study employed qualitative methods whereby both observation, semi- structured and unstructured interviews were involved. One purposely selected Tanzanian HEI was involved whereby selection of the participants involved both purposive and random selection techniques. The obtained data were thematically analysed and six themes were formed. The results yielded six themes which presented the factors noted as important on assessing users’ satisfaction with ISs in Tanzanian HEIs context. The factors include: Implementation process, Information quality, Ease of use, Ease of learning, Experts support and System quality. The noted factors were also used to propose an assessment model which can later be tested for its applicability. The study one Tanzanian HEI and only qualitative methods have been used. More studies are invited to prove that findings and also more HEIs may be involved. Other methods can also be involved to improve the findings. The results from this study may guide the Tanzanian HEIs on assessment of user’s satisfaction on the ISs implementation process to minimize project failure rate. Based on the noted difficulties on the implementation of ISs in the Tanzanian HEIs context, this study is found to be important on finding out a better way of assessing users satisfaction with the implemented ISs in Tanzanian HEIs. The study contributes to the body of knowledge necessary factors to consider on assessing users satisfaction with IS implementation in Tanzanian HEIs context for projects failure risks minimization. The study also contributed a proposed assessment model.
