Abstract
This paper aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the entrepreneurship experiences among disabled loan borrowers who are beneficiaries of 10% loans in Chamwino District Council. Grounded in empowerment theory, this exploratory qualitative study conducted in-depth
unstructured interviews with a sample of 19 disabled individuals until data saturation was reached. The findings reveal that these disabled borrowers face challenges due to insufficient awareness in entrepreneurship, exemplified by minimal training, limited creativity and innovation, and the diversion of loan funds for non-business purposes, resulting in delayed loan repayment. In addition to the previously mentioned findings, it is also evident that a lack of perseverance among these borrowers can further hinder timely loan repayment. Therefore, it is recommended that empowering disabled borrowers with tailored entrepreneurship knowledge and fostering perseverance is essential to improve their loan repayment efficiency and overall financial well- being.
