dc.description.abstractThe pillars of public procurement are essential for the effectiveness of public procurement, since they emphasize on the meeting the sufficiency that are desired in the public procurement system. Thus, the study aimed to assess the effect of procurement professionalism on the performance of procuring entities. The case study research design was utilized in the study to streamline the process of gathering data. The target demographic for this study was the 68 workers of the Institute. from which, using a mathematical procedure, a sample size of forty responders was produced. Information from primary and secondary sources was used in the study. While documentary review was used to acquire secondary data, questionnaires and interviews served as the study's main techniques of collecting secondary data. To analyze the data, descriptive statistics were used. with SPSS's assistance. The results demonstrated that there is, on average, a positive correlation between the professionalism of a procurement entity and its performance, and that a change in professionalism is positively correlated with the performance of procuring entities. The study concluded that procurement entity performance is enhanced by practitioner professionalism. Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended that management of public procuring entities should place a greater emphasis on making it easier for individuals to acquire the requisite skills that are required for the successful completion of procurement.
