dc.description.abstractPublic e-procurement is increasingly viewed as vital innovation and vendors’ linkage for their betterment. Despite this interest, numerous barriers prevent vendors’ participation in public e- procurement system are unfolded. The main purpose of this study was to identify barriers hinder vendors’ participation in public e-procurement system. This study adopted a cross-sectional research design. Pragmatism philosophy guided the study. The study randomly selected total of 300 respondents by randomization of vendors under framework agreement contract, also three key informants were purposively selected. Data was collected by use of structured questionnaires for quantitative and unstructured questionnaires for qualitative. The data were analyzed using multiple regression and content analysis for quantitative and qualitative data respectively. The results from regression model revealed that, size of the organization, lack of top management support, lack of training, lack of legal/ policy support, Incompatibility with vendor's existing systems and Lack of e-procurement contract management were significant (p<0.05). The study recommends public e-procurement system’ stakeholders to resolve these challenges and put more conducive environment for vendors’ participation in public e-procurement system, also the study recommend that, the finding should be applied as guiding model on what to be handled with care for more vendors’ participation in the system.
