Abstract
The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of maize packaging materials for enhancing customer satisfaction in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The study specifically ascertained the classification of maize packaging materials and evaluated the level of customer satisfaction on service quality features from maize packaging materials at chosen marketplaces in Dar es Salaam. A qualitative method was used, and a sample size of 58
traders, market authorities, farmers, and distributional channels was recruited on purpose. In-depth interviews, Focus Group Discussions, non-participant observation, and documentary review were used to obtain data. The data was examined qualitatively using the Qualitative Content Analysis technique, which was helped by the MAXQDA 2020 software. The findings found that maize packaging materials were divided into flexible,
rigid, and semi-rigid materials, which can sometimes improve customer satisfaction. The study suggests the government to proposed to cut taxes on the importation of good packaging materials, to establish standards for plastics packages, and to raise awareness of the importance of investing in contemporary packaging facilities with advanced technology.
